I’ll be the first to admit that I know how frustrating it feels to go through a course or take an SEO expert’s advice and implement ALL. THE. STRATEGIES. And follow everything down to the T and still not see the results that someone said “If you follow my exact strategies, you’ll have instant growth.”
Anyone can guarantee “instant growth”. But if you aren’t applying the strategies where you are currently in your business that is going to benefit you ranking on Google or getting click-throughs to your website, you will hinder organic growth.
There are a lot of reasons you might not be seeing growth in website traffic. We will address them first before we get into the SEO tips to grow your website traffic.
- Off-page SEO – This simply means optimizing your website for its best performance. Off-page SEO means optimizing your website for speed, link-building, building your brand, and marketing efforts. (Off-page SEO will be covered in a future post!)
- Website copywriting – Is your content written in a way that relates to your ideal client? Is it easy to read and right to the point?
- Are writing content based on what is performing best on your website?

Publishing consistent content
Google (not just your audience) wants to see consistency in content creation. This doesn’t mean producing content 24/7. But you do need to be publishing content consistently. Even if you create one piece of content once a week or once bi-weekly, the point is, it is consistent.
The secret to consistency is planning ahead. Try thinking of your next few pieces of content, do a soft outline in a notebook or Google Doc, write the current one that is due and get it entered into your website.
After it’s entered, you can revise the content by adding your keyword in the text and H2s. You also want the content to flow naturally with that keyword added.
Keyword competitiveness
When you’re new to the content game, you have to go for the slim pickin’s. There is little to no chance that you are going to rank on the first page for a keyword that has an SEO difficulty score of probably 65 and up. Even if the search volume is 10,000.
There are plenty of relatable keywords for the targeted keywords that you want to rank for. The goal is to rank number one on the front page of Google for the keyword that you are using. Regardless of the search volume.
Pick a keyword with a very low competitive score, like 25 or lower. Even if the search volume is 50 or 100. As long as it lands you on the front page of Google, you are more than likely going to get clicks throughs to your website.
Out of this entire strategy, focusing on low keyword competitiveness is what’s going to help you grow your traffic, pending your copy strategy.
Niche relevant content
Aside from your keyword competitiveness and copy strategy, you need to make sure that your content is something that is going to resonate with your audience. While it’s a big milestone to get on the front page of Google, what’s going to seal the deal for click-throughs and website traffic is content that resonates with your audience.

You have to know HOW your audience is typing their problem into Google. How it makes them feel. By going to the source, you will get a lot of answers.
Other on-page SEO tips to consider for website traffic growth
Image format and sizing
If the image that you are uploading to a page on your website is not transparent, ALWAYS upload as JPG or JPEG format. These file formats are the smallest file size for images and less resource heavy for the code to load the page.
Broken links, redirects, and un-indexable pages
You can use Ubersuggest to find out if you have broken links. Ubersuggest will also tell you what your redirects and un-indexed pages are too. Be discerning about the un-indexable pages, though. A lot of the pages that are listed are not supposed to be indexed. The site speed, broken links, and redirects are SEO factors, but not something that is going to completely hinder your progress or traffic growth. These are just things to be aware of and resolve these issues when they pop up.
